Hi :) I am new to genealogy and am trying to find information on my g-g-grandparents, Gideon Garrison and Hannah Salisbury. Gideon disappeared after the 1881 census where he is listed as widowed. It appears Hannah died sometime between the 1871 and 1881 census. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ... Cathy

Which surnames are you researching?

Pencil, Dingman, McNutt, Woodcock

Comments:

Looking for any info on John Pencil, Sr who married Eva Dingman McNutt. Eva was related to the Woodcocks as well. I've found John on this website in the early records crown grants. But both he and Eva disappear after Nov 21, 1802. Although Eva brought 5 McNutt children into the marriage, she and John Sr had one child together, John Pencil, Jr.

John Jr married Fanny Jackson c1816. Would like any info on this couple as well.

Thanks

Hoping to find an obit on Jarvis R. McCumber....he died in or near Fredericksburg in May, 1893. There was a little blurb in a local newspaper about his death, but I was not able to get a copy of it. Was hoping to find it here....

Love the website, it's wonderful!!!

Comments:

I am fascinated with your wonderful web site. My great grandfather was Captain Robert Johnston who retired to South Fredericksburgh TWSP.  His son William Benjamin was my grandfather and his son Roy Johnston was my father. William Benjamin's first wife was Harriet Gael Symonds.  I have never been able to locate her burial site, even though William Benjamin is in Riverside Cemetery along with his second wife Amy Auguata Walker.
Someone wrote an article about Captain Robert Johnston and spoke of contents in his obituary. His obituary would interest me greatly, but am at a loss to find it. Any information would be appreciated. F. Thurlow

Which surnames are you researching?

Mcphatter

Comments:

I am searching for Mcphatters probably from North Knapdale Ireland.  My relatives descend from John and Mary Mcphatter and their sons were Archibald, Malcolm and Duncan.  John was born in the late 1700's in Ireland or Scotland.  There is such a dead end when trying to see if they came down from Canada. Thank you for any help.

McNeil(l), Wagar, Hambly

Comments:

I am looking for the marriage record (or any other information) of Samuel McNeil(l) to Mary Amelia Hambly (nee Wagar). They married sometime between late 1905 and early 1908. Most especially I am trying to find out who Samuel McNeil(l)'s parents were.

As background, Mary Amelia Wagar married Samuel Hambly and had two children, Carmaletta and Walter. Samuel died in 1905. She then married Samuel McNeil(l) by about January 1908 and had three more children Mary, Wilfred, and Arthur.

Many Thanks

Correction:
I wanted information on my grandmother, Edna Mae Mitchell, born in Calabogie, Ontario and said she was the daughter of John Campbell Mitchell, but she is actually the daughter of John Alexander Mitchell and granddaughter of John Campbell Mitchell. She attended Bemidji College where she met and married my grandfather John Edward Cadwell.

My father in law is related to John Bell B 1692 Scotland. John is his 6x gGrandfather. Just wondering if there are others out there also looking. . His GGgrandfather was Adam Oliver who was married to Elizabeth Grieve daughter of Grizzel Grieve. There seems to be lots of info on the Bells but trying to find Adams brothers and sisters is causing some problems. Just wondering if people can settle some conflicting info on some of the Bells and Olivers.
Thanks in Advance

I am appreciative of any resources that have come to me about the Loyalists and my ancestors - William Sr, Duncan and Jehial in particular. I need help with some of the initials I see, such as OC by the person's name. I've also been perusing a list of Births & Baptisms which gives place of birth as CW. I haven't had the opportunity to research in Canada, so I ask for your guidance.

This site is very informative. Congratulations to all the volunteers.
My ggggrandfather was Marvel Garrison Sr. He obtained a crown deed for 100 acres in Fredericksburg on Dec. 8, 1806. Cemetery records indicate that he was buried in Garrison Cemetery. Would be interested in knowing if this cemetery still exists. Also would like to know how to go about finding where he came from. I think he came from New York as a U.E.L. but haven't been able to verify this.

Susan,

I like your site. It's well organized & easy to find info. I especially like the photograph display.
I found some info the L & A Museum didn't have.

If anyone has any info that is not at the museum on the family of Robert Wilson Colville (1863-1922) & Annie P. McNeill (d. 1922) I would appreciate hearing from them.
Also if someone has photos of this family or related families I would like to get copies.

Thanks.

Comments:

Just found this site through the Town of G. Napanee's website. I'm interested in learning more about the history of the land we own on Fretts Lane. A quick run with the metal detector found what looks to be a section of old cast iron pipe, plus a few other still-buried hits as well. Also, there is what appears to be an old foundation situated overlooking Little Creek. It's small and may in fact just be a hole in a rock pile, but if anyone can tell me where I could find out about the history of any buildings on my property, it would be much appreciated! Thanks!
