An old school, known as School Section No. 8,  was situated on Concession 3, Lot 12, South Fredericksburgh Additional, just east of the Adolphustown border on the south shore of Hay Bay.

Aside from being mentioned in the local papers in the 1840s, very little information on the school is available.

Later, the Union Church was erected on what was said to be the site of the old school, possibly using the remains of the school building to complete the church. We have not yet found any records to confirm this.

From the Kingston Herald, May 17 1842

Mr. Lasher brought up the Petition of Hugh Carnahan and 17 others, respecting the bounds of the School District lying partly in Adolphustown and partly in Fredericksburgh additional.
